Philipp Gasser and Bruno Tremblay at blank projects

Philipp Gasser and Bruno Tremblay, two Basel-based artists, are currently on a six-month residency programme split between Johannesburg and Cape Town as part of an exchange programme at Pro Helvetia and IAAB in Switzerland. Their show, 'Improvising on Truth' was first used as title for a Drill Hall exhibition in September where they exhibited a multimedia collaborative piece - a video installation with soundtrack. In the Cape Town show at blank, the duo uses the title as a theme for individual works which open a dialogue between them. Gasser shows a new animation and digital print comprising assemblage of drawings and newspaper clippings. Tremblay will exhibit pencil drawings in which he has used the computer as a tool in the creative process to create 'delicate and poetic pictures'.
